ERASMUS+ project: Enhancing Inclusive Education in Higher Education Institutions with Artificial Intelligence

AI-ENABLE is an innovative EU project that brings together four universities and one NGO from Slovenia, Spain, Portugal, and Turkey with a mission to explore and harness the untapped potential of AI technologies and tools to create a more inclusive educational experience for all students. The project, which lasts from 1 October 2023 to 30 September 2025, is funded by ERASMUS+ programme and is led by the University of Maribor, Slovenia.

The AI-Enable Team will be present at the 7th Experiment@ International Conference (expat’25) held at Faial Island (Azores, Portugal), September 3th-5th, 2025, presenting the paper "AI-powered Inclusive Learning: Use Cases at Deusto".

This paper explores the transformative role of AI-driven technology in engineering higher education, with the example of the Faculty of Engineering, the University of Deusto, enhancing inclusivity through personalized, accessible, and ethical learning experiences. The study evaluates AI’s benefits and challenges through a questionnaire and institutional pilot programs, introducing the need for AI literacy training, transparent policies, and human monitoring to mitigate ethical concerns, algorithmic bias, and unequal access.
