DIGIN 2026 brings together researchers, professionals and other stakeholders to connect, exchange knowledge and present professional and scientific achievements in digital accessibility and the inclusion of persons with disabilities.

This year’s programme includes a keynote by Susanna Laurin – From ambition to action – navigating the EU accessibility landscape, a round table, and expert presentations by speakers from Slovenia and abroad.

🌍 Today, we were delighted to contribute to the IMPACT track on Diversity & Inclusion through the Erasmus+ project AI-ENABLE.
🎤 During the session, we presented approaches to AI integration for inclusive education and shared good practices developed through international collaboration and project experiences. The discussion focused on how AI can support more accessible, equitable, and learner-centered educational environments. 🤖📚
💡 The exchange of ideas and experiences with experts and participants once again highlighted the importance of responsible and inclusive digital transformation in education.

Within the AI in Higher Education project, partners have completed desk research at both national and international levels. The first results are available here: 🔗 Reports & Studies

⚖️ EU & Global Legal Frameworks for AI in Higher Education
🌐 Global & EU Policies, Recommendations & Guidelines
📊 Survey: 400+ respondents from 60+ universities across 20+ countries
🗣️ Round tables completed in all 6 partner countries
HEI educators report moderate familiarity with AI tools but significant concerns about student use, including loss of critical thinking and other risks.
➡️ Next steps: In the coming weeks, partners will focus on key opportunities and challenges and risk analysis, feeding into the AI Usage Report and project summary.
This work builds on insights from #AIENABLE, reinforcing strategies for universities to integrate AI ethically, effectively, and responsibly, while preserving critical thinking, creativity, and analytical skills.

As AI, automation, and digital services rapidly evolve, an important question arises: how can we ensure that digital transformation remains inclusive and accessible to everyone?
The DIGIN Workshop 2026 invites researchers, educators, developers, and policymakers to share research and good practices related to digital inclusion, accessibility, inclusive design, and the societal impacts of digital transformation.
The workshop aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and explore how digital technologies can support equal participation in the digital society.

🔹 AI in Higher Education – Building on AI-ENABLE results
A national round table on Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education was recently organised in Slovenia as part of the EHEAII project (@ https://www.facebook.com/EHEAIIproject ), bringing together experts and practitioners from the higher education sector.
Participants discussed the opportunities, challenges, and ethical implications of integrating AI into teaching and learning, as well as the future role of AI in academic environments.
💡 These discussions strongly connect with the outcomes of the AI-Enable project, where a number of good practices for responsible and effective use of AI in higher education were identified.
We are pleased to see that these insights will now be further used, expanded, and developed within the EHEAII project, supporting universities in integrating AI in a pedagogically meaningful, ethical, and strategic way.
👏 Thank you to everyone involved in advancing the conversation on responsible AI in education.
